2020 Lincoln Continental Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The new Continental offers a choice of three V6 drivetrains. The base model is a naturally aspirated 3.7L. It produces 308 horsepower and a torque of 280 lb-ft. Its EPA fuel economy is 17/26 miles per gallon on the front-wheel drive. These figures drop to 16 mpg/ 24 mpg on all-wheel drive.

The middle-spec powertrain is a turbo 2.7L V6. It produces 335 horses and 380 lb-ft. It has a fuel economy of 18mpg/27mpg on the front-wheel drive. On an all-wheel-drive system, the figures come down to 17/25 miles per gallon. For more power, you can choose the 3-liter twin-turbo V6. This engine generates 400 horsepower and a torque of 400 lb-ft. It also has a fuel efficiency of 16/24 miles per gallon on city/highway.

Notably, the base Lincoln Continental trim is only available with the 3.7L V6. The other two upper trim models come with a standard 2.7-liter powertrain. However, the 3L twin-turbo V6 is optional. All the available powertrains use a six-speed automatic for smooth shifts. Both the 3.7L and 2.7L feature a standard front-wheel-drive system. In this case, the AWD is optional.  Also, the top-spec 3L V6 features a standard AWD system. According to EPA rating, all the three engine models achieve 20 mpg on average.
